The Role

We are seeking a Male Support Worker for a 22-year-old man living in Roxburgh Park, VIC, who has Level 2 Autism, severe anxiety, and depression.

The ideal support worker will be a kind, calm, and understanding person who can build a positive, trusting relationship and offer gentle guidance through everyday life.

Your role is not just to support — it's to connect, engage, and encourage confidence through genuine companionship.

Participant Overview:

  • 22-year-old male participant living in Roxburgh Park
  • Diagnosed with Autism Level 2, severe anxiety, and depression
  • Intelligent, creative, and enjoys calm, meaningful conversations
  • Looking for a male support worker who can build trust and connection
  • Requires consistency, emotional understanding, and encouragement

Supports Required:

  • Build friendship and trust through shared activities and conversation
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement in daily life
  • Support confidence-building and social engagement
  • Encourage positive routines and community participation
  • Offer patient, non-judgmental companionship

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a positive, reliable male role model
  • Engage in calm, supportive conversations and shared interests
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and wellbeing
  • Communicate respectfully with the participant and family
  • Maintain professional boundaries while fostering a genuine connection

Work Hours:

  • Location: Roxburgh Park, VIC
  • Flexible schedule (to be discussed with the participant and family)
  • Core Supports under NDIS

Remuneration:

  • A$35.00 – A$38.00 per hour (+ Superannuation)
  • Paid fortnightly
  • Travel allowance available if required

Preferred Qualities:

  • Male support worker with a calm, mature, and friendly nature
  • Able to connect through empathy and shared interests
  • Experience or understanding of Autism, anxiety, and depression
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and patient communicator

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • National Police Check (within last 12 months)
  • First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009)
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, or Community Services (preferred)
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Current driver's license and reliable vehicle (preferred)
