What's my job?

Based in our Melbourne office, we're searching for a Fashion Editor who is a true expert in style. You'll be the fashion voice for Howatson+Company's key client Myer, shaping how we tell stories across Instagram, TikTok and emerging platforms.

Reporting to the Head of Content Strategy, you'll combine editorial expertise, sharp trend knowledge, strong styling skills and natural on-camera charisma to inspire Myer audiences. Whether you're breaking down seasonal edits, styling looks on set or fronting a TikTok "how-to-wear-it" clip, you'll bring fashion to life in a way that feels engaging, achievable and culturally relevant.

This role is as much about being seen as an expert as it is about creating. You'll need to shine on-camera, drive conversation across social and set the bar for fashion authority in the Australian market.

A Day in the Life

Craft & Curate Fashion Stories

  • Be the fashion authority for Myer, curating, writing and styling content that positions the brand as a trust voice in fashion
  • Translate emerging global and local trends into engaging content opportunities
  • Use your styling expertise across edits, shoots and video content to showcase how to wear and pair fashion pieces
  • Produce sharp, compelling copy – from seasonal style advice to captions and video scripts

On-Camera Fashion Presence

  • Confidently present on-camera for fashion shoots, GRWMs, styling tutorials and campaign content
  • Apply your styling skills, showing audiences how to put looks together with ease and authority
  • Be an authentic, professional and energetic ambassador across digital platforms

Social-First Storytelling

  • Drive fashion storytelling on TikTok and Instagram, with engaging content that resonates with audiences and trends
  • Experiment with cultural formats: styling hacks, seasonal guides, behind-the-scenes, influencer collabs and shoppable edits
  • Stay across what's trending in fashion online, and react quickly with relevant content formats
  • Track and analyse social performance, optimising for reach and engagement

Collaboration & Campaign Support

  • Work with other teams such as production, strategy and design to ensure fashion content aligns with broader campaigns
  • Partner with beauty, home and lifestyle content leads to build cohesive multi-category storytelling
  • Contribute fresh, disruptive ideas in brainstorms and strategy sessions

How will we know you are the one?

  • You are a true fashion expert, with a background in fashion editorial, styling or fashion media
  • You have excellent styling skills and know how to translate them for a digital audience
  • You are comfortable and confident in front of the camera – presenting tutorials, edits and trend breakdowns naturally
  • You're a social native who understands how to create in ways that drive engagement
  • You're always across emerging trends, from runways to street style and know how to make them relevant to an Australian audience
  • You combine creative thinking with sharp copywriting and content ideation skills
  • You're collaborative, fast-moving and thrive in a creative, multi-disciplinary team environment
