Your Role:
As a Senior Social Worker within the Student Support and Engagement team in Metropolitan North, you will provide expert social work services to support students' mental health, wellbeing, and engagement. You will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, including Senior Guidance Officers, senior therapists, AVTs, and other professionals—to lead and deliver coordinated, student-centred support across schools.
You will play a key leadership role in supporting school communities, mentoring social workers, and facilitating partnerships with families and external agencies. Your ability to engage effectively and lead complex case management will be critical to the success of this role.
Responsibilities include:
- Deliver high-quality mental health and social welfare assessments, interventions, and follow-up support for students and families.
- Lead and collaborate with school based social workers, building capability and clinical expertise across the region.
- Collaborate with school teams, regional staff, and external agencies to coordinate holistic responses to student needs.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of social work services, policies, and practices.
- Promote inclusive, trauma-informed practices and continuous improvement in service delivery.

Mandatory requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) issued by Blue Card Services (Queensland).
- Current C class driver's licence to enable travel between school sites within the region.
