responding to an RFQ issued by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
for the implementation of
GitHub Copilot Enterprise
across its developer workforce. We're assembling a high-performing delivery team and are seeking skilled
Developers
to join our
bid team
as part of this groundbreaking AI developer enablement initiative.

. By submitting your interest, you are nominating to be included in Azooa's official proposal to the ATO.

About the Program

The ATO's GitHub Copilot program is a
three-year initiative
to securely implement and scale
AI-assisted development
across federal teams, aligned with
ASD ISM
,
PSPF
, and ATO-specific governance frameworks.

Key delivery phases include:

Business and technical stakeholder engagement

Secure configuration of GitHub Copilot Enterprise

Pilot deployment, validation, and iterative improvement

Enterprise-wide rollout and optimisation

Transition to BAU support

As a Developer on this project, you'll be working at the forefront of
AI tooling
, secure SDLC practices, and modern DevOps environments.

Your Role – Developer

As a Developer, you will contribute directly to the
design, configuration, integration, and testing
of GitHub Copilot within the ATO's secure developer environment. You'll work with DevOps, Security, and Architecture teams to ensure the solution supports developer productivity while maintaining compliance and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the integration and configuration of
   GitHub Copilot Enterprise
   within the ATO's developer toolchain
2. Develop, test, and optimise workflows in
   GitHub Enterprise
   ,
   Azure DevOps
   , and related IDEs
3. Ensure developer configurations adhere to
   ISM
   and
   PSPF
   requirements
4. Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies
5. Implement proof-of-concept codebases, templates, and pipelines demonstrating Copilot use cases
6. Collaborate with Solution Architects, DevOps Engineers, and BAs to ensure seamless technical delivery
7. Provide feedback on developer experience, performance, and Copilot effectiveness
8. Assist in preparing training material, onboarding guides, and development best practices

Required Skills & Experience

You must have:

• 3–6 years' experience as a
  Software Developer
  in enterprise or government settings
• Strong hands-on experience with modern IDEs and developer workflows (e.g.,
  Visual Studio Code
  ,
  JetBrains
  , etc.)
• Familiarity with
  GitHub Enterprise
  ,
  Azure DevOps
  , and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of
  secure coding practices
  , especially within government compliance frameworks
• Proven ability to work in
  Agile teams
  and contribute to iterative delivery
• Baseline or NV1 security clearance
  (required)

Desirable Attributes

• Exposure to or use of
  GitHub Copilot
  or similar
  AI-assisted development tools
• Experience writing testable, secure, and reusable code
• Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Understanding of SDLC in DevSecOps environments
• Experience writing documentation or training content for technical audiences
