About the Role

The Senior Category Manager (ICT) is responsible for developing, leading, and executing category plans and sourcing activities based on research and analysis to optimize value-for-money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations.

Duties

It's an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Senior Category Manager (ICT) you will:

  • Lead and manage procurement staff and cross-functional procurement teams to successfully deliver procurement business plans and achieve optimal outcomes from procurement activity.
  • Apply the procurement governance and risk management framework to monitor compliance, manage risk and improve procurement activity and performance.
  • Lead procurement activities, including negotiations on high impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver better category outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement and the procurement category, to encourage innovative practices and support delivery of business and policy directions.
  • Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise service outcomes.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary level qualification in relevant discipline or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through practical experience.
  • Extensive experience managing large enterprises and stakeholders, large spend and complex business categories.
  • Experience in a commercial role and exposure to vendor relationship management
