Zoos Victoria operates four landmark zoos: Healesville Sanctuary, Kyabram Fauna Park, Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Open Range Zoo. The Assets & Maintenance Team at Melbourne Zoo are responsible for ensuring the upkeep, safety and functionality of all zoo infrastructure across the property. The team plays a critical role in maintaining animal habitats, visitor facilities, and operational assets, supporting both animal welfare and exceptional visitor experiences.

Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, the Senior Manager, Projects and Assets is responsible for:

  • Leading the planning, delivery, and evaluation of capital works projects-from minor upgrades to major infrastructure developments.
  • Managing Melbourne Zoo's Asset Management Strategy, ensuring alignment with ISO55000 and AMAF standards.
  • Overseeing project governance, procurement, contractor management, and financial sustainability.
  • Driving innovation, continuous improvement, and strategic alignment with Zoos Victoria's 2030 Strategy.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships across internal teams, contractors, and external partners.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, contractor management, and asset planning.
  • Proven experience in project management, including delivery of building and civil projects.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and the values of Zoos Victoria.
