Brief Description
The role
To manage the Parts function and to achieve targets that align with the strategic objectives of Claims and Assessing.

To motivate and develop team-members to achieve individual and team goals, and to contribute to change and improvement initiatives.

To effectively monitor and manage performance to ensure optimal cost, quality and customer outcomes.

Work with and collaborate with the broader Assessing Team - to ensure the best connected business insight, cost and customer outcomes.

Position Accountabilities

  • Improve on key parts outcomes for the business - Number of sourced parts per vehicle, and net savings achieved as a result of part sourcing.
  • Visit business partners and actively vet and add suppliers in support of parts cost optimisation.
  • Develop appropriate KPA's and KPI's for the part function, particularly regarding adequate financial performance indicators.
  • Manage Parts team-members, in a way that aligns with ensuring our people are engaged, capable, skilled and practicing Company Values.
  • Establish and maintain regular two-way communication forums eg. team meetings, WIP etc.
  • Cross-training of team-members to sustain a flexible workforce.
  • Create and manage tools for monitoring and tracking productivity, workload allocation, and quality outcomes.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate process and systems training, and refreshers as required.
  • Drive a strong customer focus – both internal and external customers.
  • Encourage and proactively support change and process improvement initiatives.
  • Handle internal escalations, queries, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to project activities as required.
  • Undertake recruitment activities as required.
  • Business reporting for function.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, coach and develop others to achieve team results.
  • Insurance industry experience preferred – specifically in assessing and or parts would be a distinct advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve in a complex working environment.
  • Experience challenging the status quo and recommending solutions that produce results.
  • Strong relationship building skills that enable effective stakeholder engagement – internal and external.
  • Sound analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Competent in MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and successfully implement change.
  • Ability to manage conflict and negotiate as required.
