About the role:

As the Health and Safety Manager for this established Mining Client, you will lead health and safety now and as the company moves into new works and expansion plans in the medium term. The new manager will review the systems, policies, and plans; Lead efforts to ensure SM Systems are fully operation ready and build and run the HS team to manage risks, stay safe, and improve performance through every stage to production.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own and continuously improve the Health and Safety Management System; develop policies, procedures, plans, and manuals
  • Foster strong H&S culture, leadership, and psychosocial risk awareness; ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Conduct audits, monitor performance, deliver training, and manage staff/contractor training databases
  • Investigate incidents, non-conformities, and KPIs; manage incident reporting system and regulator notifications
  • Build project risk registers, emergency response plans; contribute to toolbox meetings and safety programs; equip site
  • Oversee contractor H&S, fitness for work, risk and health management plans.

The successful HS professional will join a integrated Senior Leadership team with a dynamic working environment providing guidance, support and operational readiness for a Mining Producer at this important stage of their development.

About you:

  • Expertise in WA health, safety, and environmental legislation
  • Proven influence through relationships, analysis, and leadership
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement with regulators (LGIRS, DMPE)
  • Extensive mining experience in owner/operator and construction settings; contractor compliance support
  • Deep knowledge of WA WHS (Mines) Regulations and statutory duties
  • Track record building H&S systems (MSMS, PMHMP), processes, and teams
  • Pragmatic, collaborative leadership with robust reporting, analysis, and risk management
  • Strong experience and qualification in Lead ICAM, SMS Auditing, Current Training Assessing
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Health and Safety.
