Mandarin-Speaking Facilitator (Community Workshops)

SHER FOUNDATION is Australia's first multicultural mens mental health foundation (ACNC registered charity). SHER Foundation delivers evidence-based community programs that promote social inclusion, digital literacy, and mental wellbeing across culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

We are seeking experienced
Mandarin-speaking facilitators
to deliver high-quality community workshops that strengthen confidence, connection, and cultural safety among participants.

About the Role

The Facilitator will:

  • Deliver SHER Foundation workshops focused on wellbeing, employability, and digital inclusion.
  • Lead workshops and group discussions confidently in Mandarin Chinese
    , ensuring participants feel engaged and supported.
  • Facilitate interactive learning activities and promote inclusive dialogue.
  • Support session logistics, including venue setup, participant registration, and pack-down.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment for all participants.
  • Liaise professionally with SHER staff, community partners, and participants before and after workshops.

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be
    fluent in Mandarin Chinese
    and confident in leading group discussions and workshops.
  • Have a
    minimum of 2 years' experience
    in facilitation, education, training, or client-facing community roles.
  • Hold an
    Australian Business Number (ABN)
    and
    valid Public Liability Insurance
    (or be willing to obtain these).
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a
    current Police Check
    and
    Working With Children Check (WWCC)
    .
  • Have completed or be willing to complete
    Mental Health First Aid
    and
    Cultural Competency Training
    .
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a commitment to community impact.
  • Experience working with multicultural groups or in community education will be highly regarded.

Engagement and Duration

  • This is a
    contractor engagement
    based on project requirements.
  • Workshops are offered as opportunities arise and typically run for
    2–4 hours each
    , including setup and pack-down.
  • Sessions are primarily delivered on weekdays across Greater Sydney.
  • Facilitators are remunerated at competitive professional rates.
