About the Role

Cloudstreet Consulting is seeking an experienced .NET Developer to join the Northern Territory Government (NTG) RevConnect Project team. This role is part of the Digital Project Services (DPS) unit and will be instrumental in designing, developing, and delivering a bespoke tax revenue management system for the Territory Revenue Office (TRO), Department of Treasury and Finance.

The successful candidate will work closely with Business Analysts, other developers, and the Project Tech Lead, reporting directly to the Project Manager – RevConnect. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a mission-critical project that will modernize tax revenue management for the NTG.

Project Overview

The RevConnect project involves the design and development of two key applications:

  • External Client Portal: A user-friendly interface for clients to submit returns and lodgements.
  • Internal TRO Application: A secure platform for TRO staff to manage tax revenue transactions and administrative processes.
  • You will play a key role in building scalable, reliable systems that streamline both public and internal revenue management functions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using C# .NET Core and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with the project team to design system architecture and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Build web applications and APIs to support both internal and external users.
  • Integrate systems with SQL Server databases, ensuring robust data management and security.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration processes.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical documentation and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Deliverables:

  • Deliver code to expected quality standards in accordance with documented and agreed software protocols.
  • Deliver code to the published sprint schedule.
Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Highly skilled in programming, C# .Net (.NET Core) preferred but Java or equivalent acceptable.
  • Extensive experience with Visual Studio / SQL Server and visual studio code for java script framework
  • Extensive experience web development (HTML/CSS/Javascript/Typescript, vueJS) Experience with .Net SPA
  • Experience with an Object Relational Mapping framework such as Entity Framework - Linq2DB
  • Demonstrated skills with WebAPI / Web Applications (IIS)
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool set such as Bitbucket server, Jira and bamboo
  • Understanding of System architecture concepts
  • Experience with SQL server, SQL, and Database design
  • Experience with network design principals
  • Understanding of basic security concepts

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated skills with developing desktop applications in WPF/XAML/web apps, SPA
  • Demonstrated skills with REST, SOAP and MQ web services, open API specs
  • Understand the concept of Dependency Injection
  • Experience with unit testing and continuous integration
  • Experience with writing and reading technical documentation including database models, functional specifications and technical designs
  • Experience with Unit testing and writing unit tests in code
  • Understanding of system architecture (Client application, presentation layer, business layer [object mapping], service layer, data layer and the database)
  • Understanding of VM infrastructure, setting up environments, web servers, databases, service accounts and DNS
  • Understanding network design
  • Understanding of security and how it is applied for internal and external and security implementation
