We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support our local and overseas projects. The ability to travel overseas to our partner sites and speak fluent Mandarin will be highly regarded.
The Automation Engineer is responsible for the manufacture and maintenance of production machine equipment and the research and development of small-and large-scale mechatronic prototype rigs.
Your Responsibilities- Provide expert support for industrial equipment across printhead manufacturing lines in Taiwan and China, ensuring optimal performance and quick resolution of technical issues.
- Lead initiatives to refine, enhance, and streamline automation processes at our local ink manufacturing facility, driving efficiency and cost reduction.
- Collaborate in the design, development, and testing of prototype rigs and instruments, ensuring that new designs meet both technical specifications and operational needs.
- Oversee the integration of hardware and software components into machine automation systems, ensuring seamless functionality and high system performance.
- Provide hands-on support for the installation, testing, and ramp-up of new equipment, ensuring smooth deployment.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation that ensures the efficiency, reliability, and ease of maintenance for all systems and processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional Memjet teams, to deliver high-quality, fully integrated products on schedule.
We are looking for an intelligent engineer who is self-driven, disciplined, well organised and naturally interested in robotics, PLCs, HMIs and SCADA control systems.
The ability to quickly get up to speed on requirements, comprehend technical information, read electrical schematics and code, design safety circuits and bring commissioning experience are expected.
What you bringCore skills
- Experience with integrating and debugging automation protocols such as Modbus, EtherCAT, Serial and CAN.
- Experience with integrating and debugging systems that include Melsec, Beckhoff and Codesys PLCs.
- Experience with the implementation and debug of HMI panels and other touch screen based GUI.
- Proven experience with Ladder logic and Structure Text.
- Proven experience in LabVIEW development and toolchain for automated applications.
- Expertise in development, integration, and maintenance of PLC/SCADA software for industrial systems.
- Exposure to the Ignition and Codesys development platforms.
- Proven experience with the C# programming language.
- Experience with Unix based Operating Systems.
- Experience with operating and debugging KUKA Robots or equivalent platform.
- Experience with SolidWorks CAD for small to medium scale designs.
- Strong background in the design of electrical and pneumatic circuits for automated equipment.
- Ability to independently plan, execute, and deliver projects with minimal supervision.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Control Systems Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering (or closely related training).
