About the role

Graham Barclay Marine Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Marine Technician to join our team in Forster, NSW. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and servicing of a wide range of marine vessels and equipment. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring our customers' boats and equipment are well-maintained and operating safely and efficiently.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing of marine engines, electronics and other equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic issues on a variety of boat models and makes
  • Install and commission new marine equipment and systems
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating with clients and advising on maintenance requirements
  • Maintain detailed records of all work performed
  • Ensure workshop, tools and equipment are well-organised and maintained to a high standard

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Marine Technician or equivalent role in the marine industry
  • Strong technical skills and hands-on experience servicing and repairing a wide range of marine engines, electronics and equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Working knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Qualifications in Marine Mechanics, Electrical or Electronics would be highly regarded
  • Experience servicing and repairing inboard and outboard marine engines
  • Valid Australian driver's licence
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency with unrestricted work rights
  • Boat licence or willingness to obtain one
