About us

The Motor Trades Association of Queensland (MTA Queensland) is the peak industry body representing the interests of employers in the retail, service and repair sectors of Queensland's automotive sector. The membership includes automotive businesses such as new/used car and motorcycle dealerships, tyre and mechanical workshops, auto electricians, smash repairers and service stations. MTA Queensland is also responsible for the MTA Institute - a registered training organisation and the largest private provider of automotive training in Queensland.

Qualifications & experience

  • Good knowledge of Office 365 (i) Word) (ii) Excel (iii) Outlook and Customer Relationship Management System (CRM)
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision
  • High attention to detail
  • Good communication and confidence liaising with the public and members
  • Flexibility to work to changing deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a changing environment
  • Prior Membership experience would be helpful but not compulsory

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Database maintenance, processing membership applications, distribution of material and developing reports
  • Preparation for meetings; room booking, notice of meeting, agenda papers Taking minutes of meetings, compilation, distribution and action where appropriate
  • Exception and error reporting
  • Outward bound pro-active engagement with Members
  • Enquiries for membership through to follow up, payment and application
  • Liaison with Committees and Board Members
  • Administration support for field support staff
  • Finalising submissions – proof reading, formatting and submitting
  • Organising travel arrangements
  • Making bookings for events
