About the role
As Financial Controller you will play a critical leadership role in leading a dynamic finance team, ensuring excellent in financial operations, compliance, and reporting. You will lead process improvements, foster innovation, and ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the financial accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, strong financial controls, and compliance with all regulatory and audit obligations to deliver high quality financial statements
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes and provide financial analysis to support strategic and investment decision-making
• The production of timely and accurate monthly management reports
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a high-performing finance team, enhancing capability and engagement while serving as a technical authority on complex financial matters including M&A activities
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business to integrate finance into strategic planning and operational execution, ensuring transparency and alignment
• Coordinate the annual income tax return, FBT and monthly BAS processes, tax group consolidation
• Manage core finance operations including accounts receivable and payable, identifying opportunities for process enhancement and team development
• Capital management including group funding activities, capital management strategy and financial risk management
• Oversee payroll processes and compliance across the group
• Assistance with investor relations activities including preparation of presentations to analysts, brokers and investors
• Promote a culture of integrity, safety, and ethical leadership, ensuring adherence to workplace health and safety standards
What You'll Bring
• CA qualification with 10+ years proven financial reporting experience, including in a controllership position
• Strong technical accounting expertise in Australian Accounting Standards
• Experience in Big 4 firm (highly regarded)
• Proven experience in an ASX listed environment (essential) with preference for financial services
• Proven leadership, stakeholder engagement, and ability to communicate complex financial data clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders
