Coordinator, Client Contributions and Cost Recovery

- Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model
About the role
This role will involve day-to-day supervision and people management, including staff training and development as well as the management and monitoring of staff performance. You will also lead the administration of case costs awarded by the courts to VLA, including overseeing the lodgement of applications to the Appeal Costs Board, and pursuing payment of outstanding debts to VLA.
Additionally, as VLA's lead in respect of PEXA, you will provide advice to VLA staff on securities, conveyancing practices and relevant VLA policies, including interstate practices and legislation as required. You will also conduct negotiations with respect to financial and practical release of securities, having regard to existing and proposed court orders, relevant legislation and VLA policy.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner.
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Experience in debt recovery and administration and knowledge of and/or experience in financial reporting and governance.
- Knowledge and/or experience of conveyancing procedures and transactions including mortgages, caveats and transfers.
- Knowledge and/or experience of costs law or the ability to acquire such knowledge.
- Ability to produce debt management and other reports as required.
