Director of Nursing (DoN) Position - Geelong Day Surgery

About Geelong Day Surgery: Our state-of-the-art facility in Geelong boasts two operating theatres and an endoscopy procedure room. We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and are looking for a dynamic DoN to steer our team in achieving this goal.

Part time position : about 3 days a week

Responsibilities:

As the DoN, you will take on a multifaceted role, including:

  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations in our purpose-built day surgery.
  • Ensure high standards of patient safety, care, and compliance.
  • Support, mentor, and lead a small team of nurses and clinical staff.
  • Work closely with management, doctors, and administration staff.
  • Play a key role in accreditation and quality improvement activities.
What We're Looking For:
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Some leadership or supervisory experience (formal DON experience not essential – we are open to candidates wanting to step up into this role).
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
