We are seeking a passionate and motivated senior nurse to join our team in Rainbow in a full-time (or as negotiated) capacity as the Director of Nursing

  • West Wimmera Health Service provides high-quality community outpatient services, disability and residential aged care and hospital care to more than 22,000 people in the West Wimmera region.

  • Our Rainbow Hospital offers urgent care, and both low and high level residential aged care, all under one roof. A wide range of our services are also offered from our Rainbow site, including, allied health services, Care at Home and NDIS services, multicultural health, maternal & child health services, pathology and telehealth.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • The Director of Nursing provides leadership and management skills to lead the clinical team which will ensure the provision of quality and safe care for patients and residents.
  • The Director of Nursing will engage with all stakeholders whilst meeting all regulatory requirements, accreditation compliance and legislative requirements.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential:

  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Excellent clinical management and leadership experience.
  • Excellent understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards (aged care facilities) and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (acute and community care facilities).
  • Sound knowledge of current aged care funding requirements.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and the delivery of a high standard of customer service.

Desirable:

  • A minimum of 5 years senior nursing experience.
  • Hold or working towards a tertiary qualification in management.
  • Post Graduate qualification.

Prerequisites:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives
  • Australian Driver's License
