About the Role

This role is responsible for driving commercial outcomes across ScotchBlue Painter's Tape and the 3M Safety portfolio. As the category expert and thought leader, you will leverage data and analytics to unlock insights, identify growth opportunities, and convert them into executable strategies that deliver measurable results. A key focus will be the execution of New Product Introductions (NPI) by working across Global, Area, and Country Teams to ensure innovation is brought to market with speed and precision. You will work closely with Key Account Managers to activate customer plans, driving category growth with both DIYers and Professional Channels, while ensuring initiatives hit margin guardrails and deliver against operational plans. By embedding robust reporting of drivers & drainers and tracking sequential growth, you will ensure the portfolio delivers consistently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead category growth strategy for ScotchBlue Painter's Tape and 3M Safety, underpinned by data-driven insights.
  • Analyse sell-in, sell-out, POS, and market data to identify performance drivers & drainers, translating findings into clear commercial actions.
  • Report and track sequential growth to ensure consistent delivery of sales, margin, and operating plan commitments.
  • Own the NPI process end-to-end, collaborating with Global, Area, and Country stakeholders to deliver timely launches that hit margin targets and accelerate category growth.
  • Partner with Key Account Managers to build and deliver insight-led customer engagements that secure ranging, shelf space, and off-location opportunities.
  • Develop and execute joint business plans with major retailers and distributors, linking shopper insights, category strategy, and innovation pipelines to incremental sales and operating plan delivery.
  • Drive category penetration and growth with both DIYers and Pro Channels, tailoring strategies to each shopper segment.
  • Work cross-functionally with supply chain, marketing, and sales to ensure flawless execution of initiatives and delivery against the operational plan.
  • Act as the category thought leader, providing market intelligence, competitive benchmarking, and recommendations to grow or expand category presence.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in category management, commercial strategy, or analytics roles within FMCG, retail, or industrial markets.
  • Strong analytical capability with proficiency in interpreting POS, market share, and financial data to shape strategy, including drivers & drainers analysis and sequential growth tracking.
  • Experience leading New Product Introductions (NPI) and working cross-functionally across local and global teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence internal stakeholders and external customers with insight-led recommendations.
  • Track record of partnering effectively with Key Account Managers to deliver commercial outcomes.
  • Commercial acumen with success in driving growth across both DIY and Pro channels, while meeting margin targets and operational plans.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to act as a trusted advisor with senior stakeholders.

Work location: North Ryde, Australia

This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least 4 days per week in the 3M locations
