About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Senior Specialist Medical Receptionist to join our team at Sunshine Coast General Surgeons' in Birtinya, Queensland. This is a part-time or full-time opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive medical practice environment. As a Senior Specialist Medical Receptionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our practice and providing exceptional patient care.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience for all patients
  • Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments
  • Handling patient inquiries and providing information about our services
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and files
  • Assisting with billing, insurance claims, and other financial tasks

  • Liaising with other healthcare providers and specialists as required

  • Performing various administrative tasks to support the practice

  • Coordinating with the medical team to ensure smooth office operations
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all relevant medical regulations and policies

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar patient-facing role
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritise and manage a busy workload
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proficient in using medical practice management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
  • A friendly, professional and empathetic demeanour
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, billing procedures, and electronic medical record systems
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all relevant regulations
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated healthcare team
