Your role

As a Resource Consultant you'll play a critical role facilitating the movement of staff and work across the Firm. Based in our Sydney or Melbourne office as part of our wider People & Development team, your role will focus on finding the optimal allocation of work that satisfies both the business and our employees, taking into consideration various factors such as client demands, financial objectives, staff career progression and employee welfare.
As a Resource Consultant, you will:
Lead Resource Management for specific Practice Groups across the Firm, collaborating closely with Resource Managers in other Practice Groups to ensure effective work allocation and resource planning.
Assess the workload and capacity of lawyers within Practice Groups to determine the availability and capability for taking on new projects / matters.
Analyse projects / matters, including timelines and necessary skill sets, to identify the most suitable resources considering expertise, availability, and development opportunities.
Provide data analysis and reporting for the Resource Management function
Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders across the Firm to understand project / matter progress, anticipate resource needs, and address any challenges that may arise to ensure effective work allocation.
Track and monitor the progress and performance of assigned tasks and responsibilities to ensure timely completion and quality deliverables.
Support the Resource Management team & wider People and Development team on firmwide projects and initiatives.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. Hybrid working (60% in the office) is how we work however flexibility matters at Allens, so if you are seeking hybrid working or are looking for flexibility in your work, we would be happy to discuss what arrangements would work best for you.
About you
You will have:
An understanding of resource management or workforce allocation in a professional services or legal environment is desirable however experience in client facing roles (such as recruitment, project management or similar) with plenty of stakeholder engagement will also be considered.
A basic understanding of resource planning, allocation and optimisation principles (desirable).
Experience liaising with, negotiating with, and influencing senior stakeholders.
An ability to interpret and analyse data.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
The ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A proactive approach to work and learning.
