The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is seeking an experienced HR professional to join our People, Property and Security section as a Human Resources Business Partner.

As the Human Resources Business Partner, you will support the development and delivery of key people-focused initiatives across NHMRC. This role will support and partner with managers and our employees to strengthen culture, build capability and a positive workplace. You will offer expert guidance and advice on people-related matters in performance, employee wellbeing, and compliance through proactive engagement, data-driven insights, and collaborative partnerships.

Job specific duties

You will be supported by a high performing team and under limited direction, to:

  • Develop and implement people projects and initiatives to support NHMRC's priorities.
  • Guide and support managers and employees with workplace matters on performance, wellbeing and Code of Conduct.
  • Partner with managers to understand current and future workforce opportunities risks and priorities, creating solutions that build capability, engagement and support employee wellbeing.
  • Prepare consultation materials, organise and facilitate consultation sessions with stakeholders, and effectively interpret and implement feedback received.
  • Develop and implement workplace policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Respond to, build and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Contribute to section, branch and organisational business and strategic activities.
