About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to oversee site maintenance workflow, training, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-performing production environment. Working closely with the Maintenance and Production teams, you'll drive preventative maintenance plans, optimise equipment reliability, and support long-term operational excellence.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage site maintenance scheduling, PM plans, and asset lists within the MEX system
- Reduce downtime by ensuring preventative maintenance is completed in full and on time
- Oversee maintenance training and competency assessments for staff
- Develop SOPs and engineering training modules
- Coordinate with production teams to plan plant downtime and maintenance activities
- Manage work orders, spare parts, and inventory control systems
- Engage contractors and suppliers for specialised maintenance needs
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and production
- Track R&M and Capex costs against budgets and targets
- Support WHS, quality, and food safety compliance, ensuring all standards are upheld

The Successful Candidate
- Qualified Maintenance or Reliability Engineer with solid experience in food or FMCG manufacturing
- Proven background in preventative maintenance and reliability improvement
- Strong understanding of CMMS systems (MEX preferred)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Sound knowledge of WHS, food safety, and quality compliance
- Ability to problem-solve and collaborate across production and maintenance teams
- Hands-on, proactive, and driven by continuous improvement
