Maintenance Person

Consolidated Linen Services is a family-owned commercial industrial laundry with over 330 employees, servicing the resort, mining, and accommodation industries across Queensland. We are committed to workplace health and safety practices. Our Airlie Beach/Cannonvale facility operates 16 hours daily, processing over 90 tonnes of linen weekly. We are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Person to join our small team.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Person with good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will assist with the upkeep of equipment, vehicles, and facilities to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role is varied — you'll be repairing machinery, conducting preventative checks, supporting contractors, and helping keep the site in good working order.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, plant, and facilities.
  • Assist with breakdown response to reduce downtime.
  • Carry out preventative checks and general upkeep tasks.
  • Support external contractors when specialised work is required.
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Perform minor welding, fabrication, and handyman duties as needed.
  • Work a 10:00 am to 6:00 pm shift, including regular Saturday overtime.
  • Be available for callouts when necessary.
Requirements
  • All trade qualifications welcome (mechanical, electrical, fitter, carpenter, etc.).
  • Previous experience in maintenance, mechanical, or manufacturing type work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and use a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Practical skills in areas such as basic welding, fabrication, or carpentry (advantageous).
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Local availability (Airlie Beach/Cannonvale area) preferred for callout readiness.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and teamwork.
