The opportunity

Our Energy and Utilities business is seeking an experienced
Senior Zero Harm Advisor
to join our ever-growing team in a full-time capacity. You will be working within the Power Projects space however will have the opportunity to be exposed to other areas of our business and support other projects as required.

The successful candidate will be supporting multiple projects in the Sydney, NSW region therefore we are seeking locally based individuals.

What you'll do

  • Coach Project Managers, Engineers, supervisors and field crews to successfully promote and foster a proactive culture of Zero Harm and environmental safety.
  • Ensure application of Downer Zero Harm standards and legislative requirements to all work activities.
  • Conduct observations, site inspections and audits.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries or breaches of safety and environment procedures.
  • Manage incident reporting within Downer and Client systems.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of operational safety exposure within a project-based environment or equivalent trade-based experience (Energy, Utilities or Civil industry experience preferred).
  • Prior utilisation of Health Safety & Environment Management systems.
  • Certificate IV in OHS/WHS.
  • Degree Qualification in OHS/WHS (advantageous but not essential).
  • ICAM lead investigator Auditing (advantageous but not essential).
  • Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, communication, and problem-solving skills.
