Since 2001, Melbourne Children's Clinic has been at the forefront of paediatric excellence. Located in a stunning architect-designed space in leafy Surrey Hills, our multidisciplinary clinic provides expert care to children and families across Melbourne. We are now seeking an experienced, proactive, and compassionate Practice Manager to join our leadership team.

About the Role

As Practice Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our busy specialist paediatric clinic, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality service delivery across the practice. Reporting directly to the Director, you will play a pivotal role in strategic planning, team leadership, and business management.

Key Responsibilities

• Practice Management: coordinate and manage all aspects of the Practice's operations, including HR, marketing, IT, and WHS obligations, in coordination with third-party advisors where necessary. Maintain a safe workplace environment, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

• Team Leadership: promote and embody a caring, collaborative, and innovative team culture; coach, mentor, and manage the practice's administrative team, providing support and guidance allowing them to excel.

• Patient Service: lead and support the Office Manager and the administrative team to facilitate patient care effectively and efficiently according to best-practice of service and operation, maximising the use practice's use of Genie in service delivery.

• Systems & Process Management: utilise our practice management system and software environment in coordination with our IT provider to maintain a seamless and communicative experience for patients, families and carers, internal providers, and referring doctors. Identify and act on opportunities to improve efficiency and service outcomes. Track and report on practice activity and financial outcomes.

• Strategic & Business Planning: Support clinic growth and development through marketing, clinician recruitment, and strategic operations.

About You

You're a people-focused, solutions-oriented leader with proven experience in healthcare practice management or similar roles. You combine empathy with management acumen and thrive in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.

You will bring:

• Previous experience in medical practice management or similar role (experience in a specialist medical setting is highly desired)
• Tertiary qualifications in business management, administration or similar (desirable, but not essential)
• Strong leadership and staff management capabilities
• Solid financial literacy and experience with billing, budgeting, and reporting
• Familiarity with Genie or other practice management software
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A passion for creating positive outcomes for children and families
