The Key Accountabilities Of The Role

  • Quality Strategy: Work with Head of Quality to develop, implement, and champion the company-wide quality assurance strategy and standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the QA team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Automation: Drive the development and maintenance of a comprehensive test automation framework to improve efficiency and test coverage.
  • Innovation: Research, evaluate, and integrate advanced technologies, including Generative AI and agentic systems, into the QA workflow.

The Key Responsibilities Of The Role

  • Lead and manage the entire testing lifecycle, from planning and strategy to execution and reporting.
  • Design, develop, and maintain a robust and scalable test automation framework using modern tools and practices.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of automated tests for functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level QA engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and dev-ops teams to integrate quality early and often into the development process.
  • Establish clear metrics and reporting to track quality, test coverage, and team performance.
  • Proactively identify and communicate risks and blockers to project teams and management.

The Key Requirements For The Role

  • Leadership and Mentorship: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of QA engineers.
  • Test Automation: Expert-level skills in designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term strategies for quality assurance that align with business goals.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively report on quality status and risks to stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of test automation frameworks (e.g., Katalon, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Solid programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
  • Must-Have: A strong understanding of Generative AI, machine learning, and agentic systems and their potential applications in QA.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • 2+ years in a leadership or senior role, managing or mentoring a team.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing a test automation framework from the ground up.
  • Proven experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Prior experience in researching and introducing new technologies or methodologies to a team, especially related to AI.
