THE POSITION
As the Operations Manager within the Construction Division, you are responsible for all interactive components throughout the lifespan of a construction landscape project at Wyer & Co, following engagement by the client. Full ownership and accountability is expected and required for the Roles, Responsibilities and Duties (outlined below) to ensure projects are being delivered on time and on budget.
Working closely with the Construction Manager, Site Supervisor and Estimator, the environment within the Construction division is fast paced, with a focus on premium service and customer satisfaction, including efficiency, value for money and quality.
A high level of flexibility, foresight, organisation/planning and calm nature are key attributes required for the position, for what can be high pressure from time to time. This role is the 'engine room' of the Construction division.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to)
- Project management from the time the job is approved including ongoing budget management, forecasting and tracking to ensure labour, sub contractors and suppliers remain on target.
- Contract management including client, insurance (HBCF) and sub contractors and suppliers, including ordering, POs, briefing and engagement.
- Weekly invoicing and oversight on payables, to ensure business and third party commitments are met.
- Stakeholder management including negotiation, qualification and quality control.
- Compile Projects Schedules per project to be shared with client, operations team and site managers.
- Keep abreast of changes/ impacts/ delays onsite / per project and subsequent follow-on effects to schedule (and budget).
- Co-ordinate with Design Studio to ensure timely receipt of detailed drawings / finishes selection as may be required.
- Division reporting.
- Assist with resourcing and labour.
ABOUT YOU
- A background in landscape construction and/or project management with a proven track record of success in a project management role.
- Broad knowledge of landscape construction methodology and timelines.
- Excellent ability to understand and interpret project and client specific requirements.
- Strong organisations skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to be highly flexible, adjust and grow with the position (& studio) as it develops and requires change.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience and knowledge of software BuilderTrend is advantageous.
- Proficient in MacOS, Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
