We are looking for:

We're looking for someone at the early stage of their career, ideally with 1–3 years of professional experience in Australia. You understand how businesses operate, enjoy working with clients, and are ready to take the next step: building software yourself.

As a (junior) Business & IT Consultant (Mendix Developer), you'll work closely with our ANZ Director and Lead Mendix Consultant/Developer, both based in Sydney. You'll also collaborate with our experienced colleagues in the Netherlands, who will support us during project delivery to ensure high-quality outcomes for our clients.

This role plays a key part in implementing Mendix solutions for enterprise clients across ANZ, shaping the digital future of Australian businesses, and contributing to CAPE Digital Solutions' continued growth in the region. Don't worry, you don't need to be a Mendix expert; we'll help you get there. However, you must be willing to learn this technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, IT, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of work experience, preferably in a business or IT-related role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Full working rights in Australia (citizen or permanent resident).
• Ability to think conceptually and abstractly, translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Full-time availability.
• Sydney-based with the ability to work from our Barangaroo office (at least 3 days a week).
• Willingness to travel across Australia (estimated 0-8 business days per month).

• Optional (nice to have):

• Experience with other enterprise low-code tools.

• Like to work on front-end & building beautiful designs for clients

About the role

As a business and IT consultant (Mendix Developer)at CAPE Digital Solutions, you'll spend most of your time (around 80%) building custom applications using the Mendix low-code platform. You'll be part of a project team that includes a Mendix Lead Developer and a Delivery Manager, collaborating to design and deliver impactful software solutions for our clients. Don't worry, you don't need to be a Mendix expert already; we'll help you get there. However, you must be willing to learn this technology.

We'll first onboard you and train you in Mendix. Once your training is completed, you will start on a customer project as soon as possible. You will be added to the project team. From the first day you're part of the project team, you'll work directly with our clients, gathering requirements, discussing solutions, and building the applications that bring those ideas to life. Over time, you'll take on more responsibility and gain the freedom to deliver features independently.

At CAPE, we believe in combining business insight with technical skill. You won't just translate requirements into code; you'll also develop the code with Mendix. This means asking the right questions, challenging assumptions, and guiding clients toward better outcomes and building the actual product.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver custom software applications and integrations using Mendix (don't worry, you will get extensive training).
• Work within Scrum teams to ensure high-quality results and quick iteration cycles.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions that drive operational improvements.
• Regularly evaluate delivered functionalities with clients, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with a senior consultant to implement enterprise Mendix platforms.
• Apply Agile methodologies to respond to evolving client needs and business objectives.
