About the role

As a Senior Asset Integration Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring maintenance and asset integration requirements are embedded across state and third-party infrastructure projects. Working closely with project teams, asset managers, and engineering specialists, you'll help ensure new assets are safely and effectively transitioned into operational service.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead and mentor Asset Integration Specialists across Track, Civil & Structures, Facilities, Signalling, and OCS.
  • Provide senior leadership with advice, governance and assurance oversight of asset management deliverables across the lifecycle.
  • Interface with project teams to ensure maintenance requirements are defined, integrated and delivered.
  • Participate in project governance forums including project assurance, safety in design, and project operational readiness reviews.
  • Engage with stakeholders to support assurance, compliance and quality review of Works Readiness and Project Artefacts.
  • Drive process improvements and support the development of integration procedures.
  • Provide guidance on non-technical queries and coordinate SME input.
  • Lead risk interface, acceptance and transfer management to align assets maintenance requirements and enhance visibility and assurance.
  • Promote a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Overnight travel within Victoria and interstate as required.

About you

You're an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in rail infrastructure and a passion for integrating complex projects into operational and maintenance environments. You bring a collaborative mindset, a willingness to learn, and the ability to lead through change and challenge.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Engineering qualification recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Demonstrated depth of expertise in railway maintenance, construction, or commissioning and handover.
  • Strong knowledge of rail systems and signalling.
  • Experience in project management and infrastructure delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage workload and perform under pressure.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with risk-based organisations and asset assurance processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

TLIF2080 Track Safety Awareness (SARC) / Track Safety Awareness Level 1.
