The Role
A State Government department is seeking a Senior Asset Manager (VPS6) to develop and deliver long-term asset strategies across the rail network. The role will oversee maintenance and renewals planning, investment prioritisation, and performance monitoring to support improved whole-of-life outcomes. This is a contract that runs until January 2026, based in Melbourne CBD with hybrid flexibility.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of strategic asset management frameworks and plans.
- Provide oversight and advice on maintenance, renewals and performance programs.
- Drive investment planning and lifecycle optimisation for major infrastructure assets.
- Contribute to performance measurement and improvement initiatives.
- Provide expert guidance on whole-of-life asset management and risk-based planning.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Asset Management or Business Management.
- 10 years' experience in asset management, infrastructure or rail sectors.
- Skilled in investment planning, lifecycle modelling and project oversight.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
