About the Department for Correctional ServicesThe Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. DutiesThe Community Corrections Officer is responsible for contributing to the protection of the community by supervising adult offenders who are referred to the Department by sentencing and releasing authorities and providing them with opportunities to cease offending. Liaison with a variety of Government and non-Government agencies in relation to the supervision of offenders.

Special ConditionsSection 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.

The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.

A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential.

A flexible approach to working hours is required.

Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

Additional InformationThis is a casual pool for up to 12 months with no guaranteed hours of employment and a 25 percent casual loading applies in lieu of annual and sick leave.

The successful applicant(s) may be required to work at various community correctional sites within the Southern Region. Offices are located at Adelaide, Port Adelaide, Edwardstown, Noarlunga and Murray Bridge.
