Kent are seeking a Cranes & Rigging Supervisor to join our Ampol Future Fuels Project in Brisbane. As a Cranes & Rigging Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising a crew of Crane operators and riggers in installing Structural Steel, Piping, Valves and Equipment, on an Oil & Gas Project on a Greenfields & Brownfields Construction Environment.

You will assist with developing and implementing Construction lift Plans, developing project-specific procedures for lifting and rigging.

Your Day to Day will Include:

  • Supervision of employees and subcontractors
  • Management of day to day Rigging and Crane Activities
  • Receives direction from, and communicates daily with the Superintendent
  • Responsible for field construction operations within assigned discipline or area.
  • Coordinate with the Heavy lift contractor on site for Module and Major Equipment installation
  • Coordinates established areas, crane/ lifting operational plans.
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
  • Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.
  • Ensures that Kent and local/national safety codes, requirements, and standards are being complied with within the assigned area of responsibility. Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations. Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings.
  • Reviews Subcontractor Lift plans in conjunction with the onsite Kent Lifting Technical Authority.
  • Provides oversight in the field, authorises lifting to proceed when all controls and lift study requirement have been met.
  • Attends and participates in Construction Risk Assessment Workshops.
  • Through understanding of mechanical rigging for the installation of piping and plant in a Brownfields environment

About You:

Our ideal candidate will hold high-risk rigging and slew crane licenses, with at least 10 years' leadership experience. They will have strong technical skills, experience with construction risk assessments and permits, and the ability to interpret technical documents. A background in SMP and additional crane licenses are a plus. Experience in oil & gas, mining, or crane operations, a current driver's license, and a valid working at heights ticket are required.
