Operations Supervisor/Freight Allocator

Murwillumbah based allocator/ transport supervisor
Shoobridge Transport is a family owned transport and logistics company based in Northern NSW. We have supplied FTL and LTL services to a wide range of clients for 50 years and want to bring a new member into our current leadership team.
As an experienced Operations supervisor with a passion for transport, you will be an integral part of the successful daily solution offered to Shoobridge Transports customer base. Working with our local PUD team you will be responsible for scheduling work in SE Qld and Northern NSW that allow for effective use our modern fleet of vehicles whilst ensuring the safety of our staff and continued exceptional service to our clients. This is a hands on role that offers a variety of tasks to keep you refreshed in the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of HC and MC drivers whilst working closely with our local rigid, warehouse and linehaul supervisors
- Coordinate and plan daily fleet utilisation, route efficiency and labour allocation
- Support the warehouse team to ensure cross-dock operations meet linehaul requirements
- Manage the team you lead to maintain accurate run sheet records, pallet control process's and customer POD requirements
- Utilise our FMS and TMS systems to ensure you drive performance, training requirements and productivity of the fleet you are responsible for
- Work closely with the Workshop Manager to ensure maintenance plans are met and vehicle availability matches the operation requirements
- Ensure the operation fully complies with legislated fatigue management, NHVR, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) regulations
- Participate in internal audits and support broader compliance activities
- Support the site-wide safety culture and lead by example in applying company policies
- Support our culture of positive solution based results, work to improve service delays or operational issues with professionalism and urgency
- Ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded
- Assist with the on boarding and training of new team members
What You'll Bring
Required:
- Proven experience in supervising teams, preferably in transport or logistics environment
- A strong understanding of Southeast QLD and Northern NSW areas and roads
- Excellent customer service skills with a can-do attitude.
- High attention to detail with problem-solving capabilities, multi-tasking skills all supported by a solid decision-making ability are essential
- The position requires an individual that is willing to and has the ability to thrive under pressure
- Proficiency in MS Office, freight management and transport management platforms
- Mature supportive interpersonal and communication abilities
- Flexibility to complete various tasks within the logistics environment including being part of a less than once a month weekend roster
