Company
For 81 years, we've achieved success through our ability to innovate, placing a clear emphasis on how we best serve our customers' needs. As demand continues to grow, we have expanded rapidly, now delivering a superior range of dry goods, frozen and chilled products, fresh seafood and meat, confectionery, paper products, and cleaning solutions.
In recent years, we've seen significant growth and invested in our systems and processes, building a close partnership with Woolworths Group that has continued to deliver high-quality service for our customers and suppliers.
In 2024, Woolworths moved to a 100% interest in the PFD business, bringing PFD exciting opportunities as a strategic part of the Group. Sharing expertise across both teams will ensure our continued success and drive further growth and unlock our collective potential.
About this Position
At PFD Food Services, we bring people together through food and that connection starts with the systems that keep our people, customers, and data safe.
We're looking for a curious, hands-on Senior Cyber Security Analyst to be part of our front line of defence: monitoring, investigating, and responding to threats using tools like Rapid7 and CrowdStrike.
You'll play a key role in strengthening our cyber resilience, building structure around how we manage vulnerabilities and incidents, and improving our overall security posture. Working closely with IT, HR, and Audit teams, as well as Woolworths Group's Cyber and IRMS teams, you'll help drive initiatives such as CyberArk, Dayforce access reviews, and future ISO, CIS/NIST aligned frameworks.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership, influence how we work, and make a meaningful impact on keeping PFD safe, so we can continue bringing people together through food.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and triage security alerts and perform threat hunting through Rapid7 and other detection tools.
- Investigate incidents, validate threats, and coordinate remediation with internal and external teams.
- Conduct vulnerability scans and prioritise findings into actionable work packages.
- Perform analysis on current and new initiatives leveraging threat modelling frameworks (STRIDE, DREAD or PASTA).
- Support cyber audits, eDiscovery requests, and evidence collection for compliance.
- Collaborate with Woolworths' cyber teams and external vendors on shared initiatives.
- Contribute to new security initiatives, such as SIEM, IAM & PAM uplift(s) and endpoint protection improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement in cyber hygiene, awareness, and governance practices.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a motivated, inquisitive professional who thrives in a hands-on, evolving environment.
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a similar Cyber Security or SOC Analyst role, ideally with exposure to SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management tools.
- Strong investigative mindset with the ability to analyse alerts, distinguish false positives, and identify root causes.
- Practical experience in incident response and vulnerability management.
- Passion for cyber security, someone who stays curious about threats, news, and attack behaviours (TTPs) and intimate knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Confidence to work autonomously, bring structure where it doesn't exist, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CEH, CISSP, CISM, GCTI) are a plus, not a prerequisite.
- Experience with CrowdStrike, CyberArk, or SailPoint would be highly regarded
What Success Looks Like (6-12 Months)
- You've built a clear action plan to strengthen our cyber framework and taken ownership of its delivery.
- You're confidently managing alerts and incidents end-to-end with accuracy and initiative.
- You've improved structure and visibility in our security processes and established strong relationships across IT, HR, and Woolworths stakeholders.
- You're seen as the go-to person for incident response and vulnerability management, helping uplift the organisation's overall cyber maturity.
- Most importantly, you've made your mark helping to protect the systems that bring people together through food.
You'll be empowered to grow, supported by a manager who's pragmatic, collaborative and trusted to own meaningful work that truly matters.
We're not just building systems; we're building trust, safety, and connection across every meal we deliver.
What PFD is Offering the Successful Candidate
We are offering competitive remuneration, superannuation and other staff benefits (such as discounts on staff purchases, discounted accommodation, health insurance and banking).
