About the role:
The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will work closely with the Manager, Enterprise Cybersecurity Operations to define, implement, and maintain effective information security controls across a variety of cloud-based platforms and environments. This role is critical in supporting the department's cybersecurity posture by conducting comprehensive information security risk assessments, identifying gaps, and coordinating remediation activities. The analyst will play a key role in ensuring that security measures are aligned with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.

About you:
Do you have experience in?
- Support and assist the Manager, Enterprise Cybersecurity Operations in conducting information security classifications, third-party supplier risk assessments, threat and risk assessments, and contribute to privacy impact assessments and the ongoing management of cyber security risks.
- Assist in SOC alert and incident analysis and including investigation of information security incidents in accordance with incident management processes.
- Initiates and maintains relationships with peer and senior internal and external stakeholders
- Innovative thinking and analysis influences developments within area of responsibility.
- Assess service provider and vendor security alerts and vulnerabilities, determine the potential impact to the Department of Health (DH) and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH), and work with service providers and ETB teams to implement timely remediation.
Qualifications / Specialist Expertise
Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification relevant to ICT, Information Security, or similar would be highly advantageous.
Specialist Expertise
Industry recognised certifications and/or training related to information security e.g.
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CSSP)
In addition to the above, the following experience will be essential:
- Azure Cloud Services - Cyber Security
- Microsoft 365 (O365), Intune MDM/MAM, and Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Sentinel
- Zscaler
- CrowdStrike
