The role:
We are looking for an experienced highly skilled Team Leader Community Laws to lead our compliance services and help make Whitehorse a safer community. In this role, you will oversee a team of Community Laws Officers and programs in animal management, local law investigations, safety and amenity matters and more. You will provide direction to Community Laws Officers, ensuring consistent application of legislation and high quality outcomes. The position is responsible for developing staff capability, ensuring service standards are met, and providing programs that address community safety.
Reporting to Coordinator Community Laws
About you:
You are an experienced people leader with a strong background in compliance or regulatory services. You bring a sound understanding of relevant legislation and a commitment to fair and consistent enforcement.
You are skilled in managing people, resolving complex issues, and building productive relationships with stakeholders. You have excellent time management and organisational skills, and you thrive in a fast moving operational environment. Your ability to lead with integrity, support your team, and contribute to community safety makes you an ideal fit for this role.
Proven leadership experience in managing high-performing teams within a regulatory or enforcement setting, with the ability to coach, develop and motivate staff.
- Strong legislative knowledge and the capacity to interpret and apply Acts, Regulations, and Council policies with sound professional judgement
- A strategic thinker and effective problem solver, with sound analytical skills and the ability to develop practical solutions.
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare accurate reports, legal documentation, and professional correspondence
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with members of the community
- Holds a current Victorian driver's
