Brief Description
The role

Due to a period of exciting growth at A&G, we are seeking a high-performing Corporate Lawyer to join our innovative and dynamic organisation on a permanent full-time basis.

The role of a Corporate Lawyer is to provide unbiased, effective legal advice that protects and promotes the ongoing sustainable growth and integrity of the A&G Australian insurance business. The successful candidate will join a high-performing Legal Team to assist the business with providing advice and solutions to key stakeholders. The candidate will have excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail.

Day To Day You Will

• advise on all commercial and corporate practice areas, including but not limited to Corporations Law, Privacy, data protection, technology, Intellectual Property laws and Confidentiality, Mergers and Acquisitions, and financial services regulation;
• advise various stakeholders across the Business on corporate legal issues, and financial services law issues (including prudential standards);
• liaise with and advise the Business on identifying legal risks and assist in implementing appropriate courses of action in relation to key strategic commercial relationships; and
• provide and interpret legal updates and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to the wider Business.

What Experience You'll Bring
To qualify for the position, you must have the following:

• A Bachelor of Laws degree;
• At least 4+ years PAE;
• Current legal practising certificate to practice law in Queensland;
• Experience as a commercial/corporate lawyer in a company and/or law firm (insurance or financial services is preferred but not essential); and
• Exceptional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and confidence in the Legal Team amongst our broader colleagues and stakeholders.

This role is available at both of our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast locations providing flexibility to choose the office that suits you. Our Toowong office is close to the city with easy public transport and parking option.
