About the role

At Origin, we're leading the transition to cleaner, smarter energy. We're seeking a Senior Corporate Lawyer to join our Legal team, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting Origin's renewable, storage, and major energy projects.

This is a senior position reporting to the Group Legal Manager, Construction & Sourcing, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business. You'll provide strategic legal advice, drive commercial outcomes, and support high-value projects that are shaping Australia's energy future.

  • Advising on contracting strategies, project development and procurement matters across Origin's portfolio.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex contracts for major construction, renewable energy and storage projects.
  • Guiding business stakeholders through contract departures, claims and disputes.
  • Supporting the delivery of projects by ensuring legal risk is well managed and outcomes are achieved.
  • Partnering with external counsel and legal service providers to ensure efficient, value-driven legal support.
  • Sharing knowledge and embedding best practices across teams to improve legal and commercial capability.

What will you bring?

We're looking for a senior lawyer who thrives on complexity, influence, and impact. You will have a passion to support and mentor junior team members. You'll bring:

  • Australian legal qualification and practising certificate.
  • Demonstrated 8+ years' PQE with deep experience in negotiating and managing complex contractual documentation.
  • Strong expertise in project development, procurement and construction contracting.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
  • Excellent judgment, negotiation and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Energy sector and infrastructure project experience (renewables or storage) highly desirable.
  • Experience advising on contracting claims and disputes also desirable.
