About the Role
We are seeking experienced Support Workers trained in PEG feeding, hoisting, showering, and personal care to join our team. This is a casual employee position with consistent hours of approximately 7 hours per day.
You will be responsible for providing direct hands-on care, including specialised clinical support, mobility assistance, and daily personal care. This role is ideal for Support Workers looking for consistent, structured shifts and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
Shifts Available
- 10:00am – 2:00pm (Monday to Sunday)
- 5:00pm – 7:00pm (Monday to Sunday)
Applicants must be available to work across these times on a regular basis.
Dealbreakers (Must-Haves)
Applicants must meet all of the following to be considered:
- PEG feeding training and hands-on experience.
- Hoisting/manual handling competency and confidence in safe practice.
- Ability and willingness to provide showering, grooming, and toileting support.
- A valid National Police Check (current and clear).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and competent PEG feeding care.
- Provide hoisting support and other manual handling assistance in line with training and safety protocols.
- Assist with showering, grooming, toileting, and other personal care needs.
- Support with light domestic tasks as required.
- Follow detailed care plans and maintain accurate documentation.
- Write clear, detailed, and extensive progress notes for each shift.
- Report promptly to Case Managers and Nursing Staff regarding client condition, wellbeing, and any concerns.
- Monitor client wellbeing and promptly escalate changes in health or behaviour.
- Uphold client dignity, privacy, and independence at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the client, their family, and First In Caring staff.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Proven experience with PEG feeding, hoisting, and personal care (essential).
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care/Disability) or equivalent.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
- Current National Police Check.
- Working With Children Check (preferred).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (bonus, not mandatory).
- COVID-19 vaccination compliance.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and reliability.
- Confidence in writing accurate and detailed care documentation.
- Availability for the listed shift times.
