We are looking for experienced Disability Support Workers for our various locations in Victoria - Melbourne Metro, Heidelberg, Reservoir, Daylesford, Melton, Werribee, Colac, Lara, Geelong, Shepparton regions.

About the role:

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work for a leading and exceedingly supportive NDIS registered provider.

You will play an integral role in helping clients achieve their daily goals and build their skills and independence through personal care, community participation and assistance with daily personal activities. As a support worker, you will also assist with daily activities, personal care, medication reminders, and domestic duties while maintaining accurate records and ensuring client privacy. The role involves following established procedures, engaging in direct and indirect supervision, participating in training, and upholding the highest quality standards in client support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Available for regular roster, including weekends and active nights.
  • Assist clients with daily activities: medication administration, personal care, domestic duties, meal preparation, dressing, personal hygiene, and community access.
  • Follow care plans and procedures meticulously.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes and incident reports.
  • Engage in supervision and ongoing training.
  • Ensure compliance with work practices and uphold client confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Essential Skills and Traits:

  • Deep empathy and a genuine passion for caring
  • Proficiency in non-verbal communication and manual handling tasks
  • Strong collaborative skills within a team setting
  • Experience with medication administration
  • Excellent personal care skills, including showering and toileting
  • Experience with hoisting and peg feeding is highly regarded
  • Experience in effectively managing behaviours of concern is desirable
  • Strong time-management, reliability, and punctuality
  • Ability to handle challenging environments with resilience
  • Must be willing to travel for shifts
  • Ability and willing to assist with transporting clients when required for community access or appointments
  • Must be able to work independently

Experience & Qualifications

  • Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability, Community Care, Nursing, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-year full-time experience in Australia within Health/Aged Care/Disability Services

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Qualification in Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (required).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check ID (required)
  • Working with Children Check (Employee) (required)
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (required)
  • Administration of Medication certification (preferred).
  • Current Driver's License, own car, and comprehensive/third-party insurance (preferred).
