General Service Technician

The General Service personnel perform inspection, maintenance, and minor repairs to a wide variety of equipment associated with the infrastructure. This includes maintenance of evaporative coolers and blower units, pumps, weekly maintenance tasks on fixed and mobile plant, and safety inspections. The role involves supporting trades and other personnel, undertaking general service duties, cleaning, documentation, and other tasks as required. The General Service staff ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall maintenance tasks of the facility.

Qualifications

• Essential: Current Driver's License.
• Desirable: Training in appropriate safety procedures (Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, PPE, Lockout/Tag out, Working in Trenches, etc.).

Tickets and Licenses

• Essential: Current Driver's License.
• Desirable: CPR, White Card, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Forklift Licence, Elevated Work Platform, First Aid.

Experience and Skills

• Previous experience with fixed/mobile plant maintenance is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize tasks.
• Understanding of EH&S procedures.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment, complete various service tasks, and maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work professionally with minimal supervision.
• Uphold the Code of Conduct and adhere to Program and Company Policies.

Work Environment and Demands Personnel must be medically fit to work, including lifting and operating necessary tools and equipment, accessing restrictive plant areas, and moving swiftly between locations without health impacts. Tasks involve both individual work and teamwork, with coordination and communication with internal staff and external customers.

Security Clearance Requirement Employment at JDFPG requires obtaining and retaining an NV1 (Yellow Badge) Department of Defense Security Clearance (Australian) or SSBI (TS/SCI) US Department of Defense clearance, alongside appropriate medical clearance.
