The opportunity

As a Senior Planner you will play an instrumental part in ensuring company risks are identified and controlled throughout projects within our Energy & Utilities business. This position will form part of our newly created centralised model providing a pathway to accelerate your career. The role is highly varied, involving a portfolio of diverse, synergistic projects and a strong pipeline of future works.

This full-time permanent role can be based in a variety of locations throughout Australia including Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane.

What you'll do

  • Prepare resource and cost loaded detailed project delivery schedules, for allocated projects/work packages, using past construction knowledge and experience that accurately reflect the conditions of the contract, design and specifications.
  • Maintain and update the project master schedule, where applicable, incorporating subcontract schedules, to ensure appropriate execution of work package plans are completed as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Downer's standards and requirements as set by Utilities Performance Commercial & Risk Team, in terms of Schedule Quality and Change Management.
  • Perform delay analysis as needed by the Contract and support with suitable narrative.
  • Manage/ undertake, review and analysis of sub-contractor schedules to confirm alignment with good scheduling practice and Downer standards and requirements.
  • Assist in the development of project practices and procedures.
  • Undertake reporting requirements of internal and external stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  • Proficient computer skills including Primavera P6 (essential) and MS Project.
  • High levels of verbal and written communications skills.
  • Power BI knowledge and working experience.
  • Minimum 10 years prior Project Scheduling/Planning experience.
  • Ability to visit multiple site locations including interstate travel when required.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of CPM scheduling concepts and delay analysis techniques.
