As a Senior Planner you will:

  • Apply strategic thinking and problem-solving to planning policy and development assessment matters related to regional planning.
  • Prioritise and manage tasks efficiently and in line with team commitments, and recognise and raise issues that impact on the work of the team.
  • Undertake research, analysis and interpretation to provide advice on complex issues in relation to regional planning initiatives under the Planning Act 2016 and Regional Planning Interests Act 2014.
  • Build and maintain professional networks with internal and external stakeholders by keeping open and effective lines of communication.
  • Prepare high-quality documentation including correspondence, submissions, briefs, presentations, spreadsheets, and reports on complex and sensitive issues.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management, project teams, government agencies and external stakeholders to ensure regional planning project outcomes are achieved and appropriate government processes, such as cabinet approval are followed.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and divisional discussions in a respectful manner and share your technical skills and experience to provide support to other officers in the team.
  • Represent the department, as appropriate, at meetings, consultation activities, forums, committees, industry/stakeholder events in an effective and professional manner.
