About the role

We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Parts Interpreter to join our team. In this dynamic role, you'll play a critical part in supporting our sales operations by managing client relationships, processing orders, and coordinating with both suppliers and our internal team. With a focus on ensuring the smooth and efficient sale and supply of parts.

You'll build strong industry connections, respond to customer enquiries, and work closely with manufacturers to source and order components. This is a hands-on role that requires great attention to detail, communication skills, and a strong sense of initiative. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Handle customer enquiries and provide prompt, accurate assistance.
  • Process parts sales orders efficiently.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products based on specifications, cost, and availability.
  • Prepare and submit formal quotations for spare parts and special buy in products
  • Monitoring stock levels, restocking, and participating in stocktakes
  • Providing technical support and answering questions related to parts and their applications
  • Manage sales leads and follow up to convert enquiries into confirmed orders.
  • Purchase and source products as needed, maintaining close communication with suppliers.
  • Book freight and coordinate dispatch to ensure timely delivery to clients.
  • Proactively grow the customer base and support new business development.
  • Assist in the marketing and promotion of new parts and product lines.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support delivery and key sales targets
  • Perform general ad hoc duties to support smooth day-to-day operation.
  • Warehousing tasks such as loading and unloading trucks and containers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you'll be working directly with clients and collaborating across departments

Skills and experience

  • Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Previous experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, water trucks or spare parts is highly regarded.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge or interest is preferred.
  • Current forklift licence is essential.
  • Experience in inventory and accounting software programs is essential.
  • Proficient computer skills, including confident use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage your time efficiently.
  • Well-presented with a professional and approachable manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
