Alltruck Bodies in Dandenong is a leading provider of repair services for rigid truck bodies and due to natural growth, we are now seeking a trade assistant to support our Repairs division. The role is both varied and interesting and the successful candidate must possess a flexible attitude, a willingness to help and be able to take direction well.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform general repairs to truck bodies which includes:

  • Removal & refit of roof sheets, side & front walls, side & rear doors and tailgates to truck bodies.

  • Removing truck bodies from the chassis.
  • Welding, grinding, cutting, drilling holes and riveting.
  • Running electrical wiring, fixing lights and reverse cameras to the truck bodies.
  • Assist the Truck Body Builders with tasks in the work area to a level within your capability.
  • Work safely and maintain work area cleanliness.
  • Manual Handling.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Safe and efficient use of hand tools and equipment.
  • Ensuring that repairs are conducted in a timely manner.
  • Be able to read and comprehend technical drawings, specifications, memos and other general correspondence.
  • Have basic numeracy skills, with the ability to use these skills for weight, volume and distance measurements.
  • Be able to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Work well both autonomously and within a team.
  • Available to work Monday - Friday 7.00am - 3.06am and some O/T is available
  • Previous experience within the Truck Body Building industry would advantageous

The successful candidate will need to be able to problem solve, work in a fast-paced environment and have worked with a variety of hand tools and power tools
