An exciting opportunity to lead and shape the strategic delivery of Council's Capital Projects and Asset Management framework, driving high performance and continuous improvement while ensuring the optimal planning, implementation, and renewal of vital community infrastructure.

As the Manager Assets and Capital Delivery, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight to a multidisciplinary team responsible for the planning, delivery, and management of Council's capital projects, infrastructure assets and maintenance. This senior leadership role is focused on driving high performance, continuous improvement, and best practice across all aspects of project and asset management, ensuring alignment with Council's strategic objectives. You will lead and mentor a highly skilled team, fostering a positive and accountable culture that empowers staff to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and community-focused outcomes. With a strong focus on people management, you will guide the team in translating strategic priorities into operational success through sound planning, stakeholder engagement, and professional development.

This role is a unique opportunity to influence the future of Council's infrastructure through strong strategic oversight. You will draw on your substantial experience in asset management, project governance, facilities maintenance and leadership of technical teams to oversee the successful delivery of complex capital works programs. Your ability to think strategically, manage competing priorities, and make informed decisions will be critical to ensuring Council's assets are effectively maintained, renewed, and developed. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play an integral part in shaping long-term infrastructure planning, improving service delivery, and contributing to the overall performance and direction of the organisation.

To be successful you will need:

  • Proven leadership experience managing and motivating high-performing technical teams, with a focus on driving accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Extensive experience overseeing complex capital works projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong strategic capability in asset management, with demonstrated success in developing and implementing frameworks, systems, and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Highly skilled in contract and consultant management, financial oversight, and risk-based project governance within a local government context.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence, problem-solve, and build strong relationships across all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

This is a full-time, permanent position offered at General Officer Level 8 ($128,310 - $136,693 p.a.)  under our Enterprise Agreement 2025.
