About the role:

The Portfolio Delivery group is responsible for the delivery of corporate services across the Department of State Development, including driving organisational performance and providing business support and advice.

The Technology and Asset Services (TAS) team delivers technology solutions that drive performance and efficiency and enable the Department to achieve its objectives and ensures that facilities and physical spaces are safe and functional.

The Director, Technology and Asset Services is responsible for the development and implementation of ICT and facilities strategies that support achieving the Department's objectives and the delivery of technology and asset services that meet evolving business needs. The Director develops partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, providing high-level advice and strategic influence to achieve enterprise business outcomes, and contributes to the design and delivery of departmental and whole-of-government plans.

As Director, Technology and Assets Services, you will:

  1. Provide vision, leadership, and governance for the ICT and facilities investment strategy in alignment with the Department's enterprise plan and risk appetite.
  2. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Technology and Asset Services team for the provision of highly professional, customer-oriented, innovative, and sustainable technology and asset services that meet evolving business needs.
  3. Develop strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for business-led technology innovation and operational efficiency and provide strategic advice and influence to achieve desired outcomes.
  4. Oversee the delivery of capital programs and initiatives relevant to the position within delegations and in accordance with relevant governance.
  5. Implement and evolve the Department's ICT operating and delivery model, ensuring efficient and effective resource allocation and vendor management.

Key Competencies:

To apply and succeed in the role, you will be a results-driven leader who can demonstrate:

  • Significant demonstrated experience in leading high-performing ICT and facilities teams and managing significant resources to deliver Department-wide work programs, assessing and mitigating strategic issues and risk.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and driving the successful implementation of ICT projects and programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of ICT and information security-related policies, guidelines and frameworks, and associated Commonwealth and State government policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, leading, and evaluating complex, multifaceted and high-profile ICT business transformation programs and projects involving public and private sector partnerships.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, facilitating partnerships and enabling effective working relationship across government, industry and with other strategic external stakeholders to achieve government objectives.

Within the context of the role responsibilities described above and in the position description, ideally you will be someone who can competitively demonstrate your knowledge, skills and experiences and their suitability against the South Australian Executive Service (SAES) Competency Framework in the context of the essential requirements for this role.
