Casual Female Disability Support Workers – Spinal Cord Injury Support

We are seeking 2 compassionate female Disability Support Workers to support a 31-year-old female client living with a spinal cord injury and managing autonomic dysreflexia. The client is an independent wheelchair user who requires assistance with transfers and daily living tasks.

About the Role:

  • Provide safe and respectful manual transfers
  • Support management and prevention of autonomic dysreflexia
  • Assist with daily living activities and household tasks
  • Promote independence and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals as needed

Shifts Available (Applicants must be available for at least two of these shifts per week)

  • Monday: 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • Wednesday: 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • Friday: 7:00am – 3:00pm

Pay Rates (SCHADS Award – Level E3.1 Casual):

  • Base hourly rate: $35.15
  • Afternoon shift (ends 8pm–midnight): $38.67
  • Active night shift (starts before 6am or ends after midnight): $39.37
  • Saturday: $49.21
  • Sunday: $63.27
  • Public holiday: $77.33

About You:

  • Experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries
  • Skilled in manual handling and transfers
  • Knowledgeable about autonomic dysreflexia and appropriate responses
  • Empathetic, patient, and committed to person-centred care
  • Hold current First Aid, CPR, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and WWCC (VIC) or equivalent
