Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain database solutions (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar).
  • Implement database models, schemas, stored procedures, and functions to support application development.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Manage database security, including access control, encryption, and auditing.
  • Perform database backups, restores, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and business analysts to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes for data migration and integration.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions to production incidents.
  • Maintain documentation of database configurations, standards, and processes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience as a Database Engineer, Database Administrator, or Data Engineer.
  • Strong expertise in 
    SQL Server
    , 
    Oracle
    , or 
    PostgreSQL
    .
  • Experience with 
    performance tuning, query optimization
    , and 
    index management
    .
  • Working knowledge of 
    ETL tools
     and 
    data integration frameworks
    .
  • Experience in 
    cloud database platforms
     such as 
    Azure SQL
    , 
    AWS RDS
    , or 
    Google Cloud SQL
    .
  • Proficiency in 
    database backup/recovery strategies
     and 
    high availability (HA/DR)
     setups.
  • Solid understanding of 
    data security, access control, and compliance standards
    .
  • Familiarity with 
    data modeling tools
     (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner).
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
