Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A bachelor's degree in civil engineering
• A minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience in civil engineering projects, ideally within the construction or prefabrication sectors.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, environmental compliance and project documentation.
• Experience with prefabrication systems, engineered building products or testing environments will be highly regarded.

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to join our engineering team in Dandenong South, VIC. As a Civil Engineer at MiTek, you will:

• Analyse site conditions and undertake feasibility assessments to determine the suitability of civil engineering projects where MiTek's Engineered Building Products (EBP) and prefabricated systems will be applied.
• Conduct surveys, investigations and product testing of new and current MiTek systems and materials before market release, applying civil engineering knowledge to ensure performance, durability and fit-for-purpose use in construction projects.
• Develop, prepare and maintain EBP specifications, technical drawings and data sheets that detail civil engineering requirements for the correct application, installation and fixing of MiTek products in residential building projects.
• Undertake design-related civil engineering calculations and provide technical solutions to resolve construction challenges associated with site conditions, prefabrication methods and deployment of MiTek's engineered systems.
• Determine and recommend appropriate civil construction methods, materials and quality standards to support the safe and efficient integration of MiTek's prefabricated solutions into residential and commercial developments.
• Study, evaluate and report on environmental, regulatory and compliance implications of civil engineering projects involving MiTek's engineered products, ensuring adherence to Australian codes and sustainability requirements.
• Investigate and develop EBS procedures that improve the quality, accuracy and efficiency of prefabrication and on-site assembly, providing detailed specifications that enhance the productivity of MiTek's fabricators and builders.
• Contribute to the advancement of prefabrication and automated construction processes by implementing civil engineering procedures and workflows that align with MiTek's innovation in manufacturing and building technologies.
• Support continuous improvement in civil engineering practices by aligning project outcomes with MiTek's strategic goals, including the MiTek 2030 vision, ensuring innovation and growth in engineered building solutions.
• Maintain safety, compliance and quality assurance standards in MiTek's testing laboratories and project environments, including the management of testing schedules, inspection, maintenance and calibration of equipment, and adherence to quality control practices.
